The Anchor Port Bannatyne Isle of Bute Bar Mat

Have you been to the Anchor Tavern in Port Bannatyne yet?

If not, it's well worth a visit.

The Anchor sits here in Port Bannatyne, my village on the Isle of Bute, and it's one of those local places that is very much part of village life.

The community-owned pub and hub was refurbished and reopened at Easter 2022. With its roaring fire, maritime character and friendly atmosphere, it's a meeting place for locals and visitors from all over the world.

From Port Bannatyne to Bute Gifts

Living and working on Bute means that the places around me naturally find their way into my artwork.

I've been creating artwork inspired by the Isle of Bute for many years, and the Anchor is one of those familiar local landmarks I've enjoyed turning into something people can take home with them.

You'll now find my Anchor Tavern artwork across a collection of Bute Gifts merchandise — including the Anchor bar mat and other gifts featuring my original design.

Whether you live in Port Bannatyne, have enjoyed a pint at the Anchor, sailed into the bay, visited on holiday or simply have good memories of the village, it's a wee reminder of this corner of Bute.

A Community Pub on the Isle of Bute

The Anchor isn't simply somewhere to stop for a drink. As a community-owned pub and hub, it's part of Port Bannatyne itself, with profits going back into the local community.

So if you're exploring the Isle of Bute, come up to Port Bannatyne, have a wander around the village and pop into the Anchor.

And if you'd like to take a little piece of the Port home with you, you know where to find the merch. 😊
