Coming Doon the Watter for the Bute Highland Games? Posted on 21 Aug 21:35
There’s something special about Bute on Games weekend.
The ferries are busy, the town has a buzz about it, familiar faces come home, visitors arrive for the weekend, and there’s that unmistakable feeling that something is happening on the island.
The Bute Highland Games are part of the island’s summer calendar and a brilliant excuse to come doon the watter, spend a day on Bute and enjoy a proper island day out.
And if you’re heading over this weekend, Isle of Bute Gifts is open all day Saturday for the Games.
Pop in and see us at Mill Street
You’ll find our studio at 25 Mill Street, Rothesay, opposite Duncan’s Garage.
Isle of Bute Gifts has been creating and selling Bute-inspired gifts since 2000, beginning in the Studio Shop and continuing today from our Mill Street studio and online shop.
More than 25 years later, the inspiration is still the same — the Isle of Bute.
The places, the scenery, the ferries, the humour, the memories and all those little things that make the island feel like Bute.
Our collection includes gifts and keepsakes for visitors, islanders and all those people scattered around the world who still think of Bute as home.
Take a wee bit of Bute home
If you’re visiting for the Games, pop in and have a browse while you’re in Rothesay.
Whether you’re looking for a wee reminder of your weekend, something to take home for family and friends, or a gift for someone who simply loves the island, there’s plenty to discover.
And every purchase from a small local business helps keep independent creativity and businesses alive on the island too.
Can't make it to Bute?
You don’t actually have to cross the Clyde to get your Bute fix.
Our Isle of Bute Gifts online shop is open all year round, and we currently offer FREE P&P WORLDWIDE. 🌍📦
So Bute can travel considerably further than the Waverley.
But if you are coming over for the Games this weekend, have a fantastic day, enjoy the island and pop into 25 Mill Street to say hello.
We’ll be open all day Saturday.
See you doon the watter. 💙
